Walled Garden

On the Web, a walled garden refers to a browsing environment that controls the Web sites the user is able to access.

This is a method for shielding users from information, such as restricting children's access to adult sites or for directing users to paid content. School and workplace networks are increasingly using the walled garden approach to control what sites can be viewed.

Some governments around the world also use this approach in an attempt to control political content.
