URL (Uniform Resource Locator)

The unique address of any Web page or Web document.

You enter the URL in the address box on your browser. It contains several components.

For example: www.amazon.com/Products/index.html

First you have the protocol: “http:/”

Then the domain name: “www.amazon.com”

Then the directory: “Products”

Then a Web page: “index.html”

When a URL is long and contains question marks then it indicates the address of a dynamic web page, which changes as new data is retrieved from the server’s database. These addresses are generally not searchable by search engines.
