Lossless Compression

A method of compressing and decompressing audio and video files which results in no loss of data and any degrading of sound or image quality.

Lossy compression loses some quality in the compression/decompression (codec) process. The advantage of lossy compression is speed.

If you need to copy hundreds of audio files, lossless compression will take much longer.
