Browser
The software which displays and controls access to Web sites on your computer.
Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Firefox, Safari, and Opera are leading browsers. Newer browsers have tabs which allow several pages to be open at the same time.
Each brand of browser (and even versions of the same browser) can interpret and display HTML code differently, especially the display of fonts and colors, which needs to be taken into account when designing and testing Web sites.
Fortunately, as browsers have become more standards-compliant, the number of browser compatibility issues has declined.
See Chrome.
